Alaska CE Requirements:

 24 CE credit hours are required to renew a license. Of the 24 CE credit hours required for renewal, at least three must be in ethics, and no more than eight credits may be in the subject area of management, marketing, sales, and training. Also, no more than eight credits may be carried over from a previous renewal cycle.

Training Requirements for Producers

LONG-TERM CARE INSURANCE

A one-time 8-hour course with 4 credits is required for every renewal thereafter. Effective 7/1/12.

Annuity Best Interest: The division recently promulgated regulations to update continuing education requirements and disclosures for annuity products in compliance with national standards. This bulletin provides clarity on the effective dates for compliance. The regulations became effective on November 23, 2022. The division has created a course group called “Annuity Training – Best Interest” in SBS.  The window between January 15, 2023, and July 15, 2023, is to provide producers with six months to comply with the new training requirements. If a producer is already in compliance with the new requirements, they do not need to retake their courses. The effective date for providing the new disclosure forms as required by 3 AAC 26.775 is July 15, 2023. Producers who have not complied with the previous training requirement will have until July 15, 2023, to comply with the new training. Producers who have already completed a four-hour annuity training course under the old regulations must complete an additional four-hour annuity training course. 

Flood:

Flood: If you hold property and casualty authorities and are interested in selling flood insurance policies through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), you must meet the federal education requirement by completing NFIP Flood Insurance Training.  This training may also count toward your continuing education requirement.
