New Jersey CE Requirements:
Provider Number: 30055
Individuals renewing their license after a 2-year period should complete 24 credits with 3 of these 24 approved for ethics instruction. In addition, individuals who are authorized to sell flood insurance have a one-time requirement to take 3 credits in approved course(s) on flood insurance and the National Flood Insurance Program. Those 3 credits are a part of the 24 credit total.
Public Adjusters: 15 credit hours every two years.
New Jersey has contracted with PSI Services LLC as our prelicensing examination and continuing education reporting vendor. Producers may access their continuing education records from PSI Services' website. In addition, you may contact PSI Services at 1-877-526-6833 to receive information on your credits.
ANNUITY: Effective 2/4/2013 producers and brokers must complete a one-time four (4) hour suitability course in annuities training course approved by the Department and meet carrier product-training requirements. Both resident and non-resident producers may meet "the training requirements of another state that are substantially similar" to New Jersey's.
MONITOR/PROCTOR: Bulletin No. 20-29, suspended the requirement that self-study continuing education courses culminate in a monitored examination of the material presented until further notice.
CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION: Your certificate of completion will be available immediately from your account page once we have received your credit card payment.
TESTING: An exam is required to receive continuing education credit hours. We do not guarantee you will pass the test. It is understood that you must read the course material to pass the test. You have five chances to pass the test. If you fail five times, the system will lock you out of that particular test & we cannot erase or delete them. You will need to make a different course selection.
CARRY FORWARD CREDITS: Up to 12 continuing education credits can be carried over from one renewal cycle. Ethics credits cannot be carried over.
VERTAFORE: We notify www.sircon.com daily Monday through Friday except holidays for all course completions. It will take 24 to 48 hours before NIPR has your information so you can renew your license.
Effective 8/1/2010 the New Jersey Department of Banking & Insurance will no longer print and mail licenses to Insurance Producers and Public Adjusters. Licensees will print their own licenses via SBS CONNECT.
SBS CONNECT is a service offered by the NAIC. It allows one free license print and sends an e-mail notification to Insurance Producers and Public Adjusters upon license issuance, renewal, and when various changes are made to an insurance producer license.
More information about this change and the link to SBS Connect can be found on the Department’s website: http://www.state.nj.us/dobi/inslic.htm in the Insurance Licensing and Education section.
Have a Happy Day!
